We then headed out in our tour. We’re ‘re tendered today so tinder boats here we come.
We got on shore and found our welcome sign and a lovely view of our ship (thanks to Lynne for pointing this out)
Then it was a bus trip. We went up the mountain. There are25 curves. The road only wide enough for one car so cars have to pull over to allow passing. It’s super steep and curvy but allows for great views!
We stopped in Njegski quickly (honestly spent more time in line for the bathroom than shopping but people were making great comments coming out of the men’s room. I really loved the guy who did his interpretation of having to hold the toilet seat up with one foot while going. God love Christina because she went into the men’s room to give more times to the ladies room)
So this is the village
And this is the village dog
Once we all rebounded the bus it was off to Cetinge (set-in-jag). We had an hour here to wonder
We saw the museum
We found a new rocking toy for Lynne to have a photo in
We sat and had cappuccinos and an Irish Coffeefor Grover (because when in Cetinge....)
Montenegrin Santa was working in his workshopand I wish I could post the video here but pictures will have to do. As they have Orthidox and Christians here they celebrate Christmas twice so I’m sure he’s super busy!
As we were walking to the bus, Christina and I ran up to check out the church. It’s beautiful.
And I met all the friendly local dogs who like to lay in the parking lot until you pet them.
This guy parked himself in front of a bus and I’mpretty sure had no plans to move until the bus driver gave him belly rubs.
Along the bus tour we drive past Budva, Saint Nicholas Island and Slovenian Beach. Along the Adriatic coast line.
We also so Jaz (pronounced Yaz) beach where concerts such as Madonna and Rolling Stones are sometimes held.
After Jaz we headed back inland towards Kotor. We went inside the walls to see the old city.
We grabbed a local wine and ham and cheese bboarf (all local made) for snack. Oh and it was Mary’s birthday!
After snack we grabbed the tender/tinder back.
Once back on the ship, I joined Cheryl at the poolside bar to listen to some reggae and then we all sat out in the balcony to watch as we left the bay (it took over an hour to get out to the ocean but we had some amazing views along the way)
Final thoughts:
Maryann said this restaurant doesn’t look like a boat....
And they use Mercedes as taxis here
