The plan for this trip is packed!
On Friday Maryann, Cheryl, Christina and I depart for Italy and have a week there.
Maryann and Christina are flying to Milan and visiting Maryann's family in Turin then working out of the local office until Thursday.
Cheryl and I are flying to Rome. We arrive on Saturday and will have the afternoon to wonder the city. We'll be doing the Colosseum underground tour on Sunday and the Vatican tour on Monday. Monday afternoon we catch the train to Florence.
Tuesday we're driving this vintage car out into the Tuscan hills!
There will be a tour guide in another car that we follow (they probably assumed I'd get lost!) who will take us to some of the highlights in Greve, Gaiole and San Casciano Val Di Pesa.
Wednesday we take a bus out to Pisa to (hopefully) climb the Leaning Tower but, at minimum, we'll see it. Then we head back to go to the Galleria dell'Accademia where the Statue of David is and the Santa Croce museum to see the crypt of Michelangelo.
Oh - and did I mention we're staying in a hotel that in the 1,000 place to see before you die! And they'll have WINE waiting for us in our room! Can you tell I'm excited for all of this?!?!?
Bright and early Thursday we catch the train to Venice where we all meet up. Lynne and Mary will be flying in that day and Maryann and Christina will be taking the train over from Milan. On Thursday we'll be doing some local sites and then Friday we'll be heading over to Murano (famous for glass making) and Burano (famous for lace a making).
Saturday we head to the port and jump on our CRUISE!
Here's the itinerary:
- On Saturday we board and have cocktails and potentially some pool time while we learn to navigate our way around the ship.
- Sunday we'll be in Dubrovnik, Croatia
- Monday we'll be in Kotor, Montenegro
- Tuesday we'll be sailing (aka drinking poolside)
- Wednesday we'll be in Santorini, Greece
- Thursday we'll be in Katakolon, Greece
- Friday we'll be drinking poolside again
- Saturday we arrive back in Venice and fly home
I will try to keep up with the blog again this trip but no promises as:
- I'm not sure what my internet service will be like
- As you can tell from above, I plan to be quite busy!
I will do my best though.
Ciao for now!
